South of the border in Ol’ Mexico, the charros created rope spinning. In keeping with the tradition and bringing the color and history of the old west
Girletz Ranch features Trick Roping performance by Bud Edgar, Joker and Trick Roper.
Indigenous Hoop Dancing
Wild Bill Cody regarded the native Americans as friends and they played a huge role in each of his performances.
Girletz Ranch features Sandra Lamouche, representing the Bigstone Cree Nation in Northern Alberta. A multidisciplinary creator and storyteller. Award winning Educational leader, speaker, artist and author and a champion Hoop Dancer.
Lowell Yellowhorn, a highly decorated North American Pow Wow and cultural performer, traditional Blackfoot drummer and very proud Blackfoot Indian of the Pee Kahni Nation in Southern Alberta.
Trick Riding
Trick and Fancy riders thrilled audiences during Wild West shows.
The Ol’ West Show is proud to continue this art, steeped in tradition and western grandeur.
Girletz ranch features very courageous and athletic young ladies to re-enact daredevil stunts.
Trick Horse
In the days of the Wild West Shows, Cowboys or Cowgirls and their horses often shared equal billing.
Girletz Ranch features Shelby Sheppard, a professional trick rider and stunt double for over 20 years, displaying her heroic and athletic talent with her equine companion.
Roman Riding
Modelled on Buffalo Bills Wild West Show the Roman Rider exhibits a magnificent display of horsemanship performing on two horses loose without reins bringing a sense of freedom.

We offer on site catering provided by our preferred caterer for over 25 years. The premier food will impress your guests and have them coming back for more. Specializing in premium Alberta Beef the meal has a western flair to include baked beans, baked potato, delicious salads, and homemade dessert. Grab your boots and hat and join our talented line dance instructors for some country line dancing lessons.
